Why 2 Blenders Might Actually Be Essential For Your Kitchen

Vitamix blender is the king of all blenders.
It’s been around a long time, starting with its original model The Vita-Mix, which was sold as a revolutionary health machine with a stainless steel container. Their dedication to quality and service is unmatched. That’s why Vitamix is top of the list for the best blenders you can buy.
I’ve used Vitamix blenders in a professional setting, which is rough on any appliance, and they hold up magnificently!
On the occasion that they need to be serviced, we’ve found replacement parts very easily. However, there’s a reason that juice & smoothie shops use Vitamix blenders for perfectly thick smoothie bowls or a quick blender ice cream. It’s because they are high performance blenders.
If you’re not ready to commit to a new machine, because, yes, they are pricey, the Vitamix website readily sells “certified reconditioned” Vitamix blenders, a.k.a refurbished, at a terrific price.
My first Vitamix blender was purchased in used condition and lasted 7 years in my home, before using it professionally in our deli. Then it lasted another 6 years with daily use before needing to be repaired.
Talk about a workhorse appliance!! Vitamix is one of the Best blenders!

From the Vitamix Site
If the Vitamix is so effective and long lasting, why would I need a second blender?
For small volumes. It’s literally the only reason.
If you’re blending up cashew cream sauce or 1-2 cups of dressing or a smoothie bowl for one, it’s not enough volume for the Vitamix to properly liquify the ingredients. Often, the resulting puree is grainy or even has full size pieces left. To be effective, the amount of food needs to match the size of the blender canister. That’s where personal blenders or small blenders come in.
What about the small canister for the Vitamix blender?
The reviews have been only so-so for the small Vitamix canister. I have been looking into it over the past few years. One of the common complaints of the small canister is the lid suctioning and being extremely hard to remove after blending. Once Vitamix perfects the small canister, I will be sure to buy it. It’s only a matter of time because they are obsessed with building a better blender. Their words.
What personal blenders are recommended for small volumes?
The Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker has been my absolute favorite small blender!
I had my reservations going into it. How could anything ever live up to my precious Vitamix? It has the performance, the longevity. I couldn’t imagine getting anything satisfactory out of any other blender.
However, the Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker blender has lived up to my high expectations. I have used it daily to weekly over the past 3+ years and it has held up! I still get silky smooth peanut butter, spoon thick smoothie bowls, blender ice cream, and chunk-free smoothies for one.

From The Ninja Site
Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker has two style canisters – Drinkable & Spreadable.
Both canisters help take the guesswork out of how much solid vs liquid should be added. The Spreadable canister makes a perfect smoothie bowl. You get something that is thick enough not to melt right away, but thin enough to be smooth and spoonable. The twist on the top of the Spreadable canister is the key to getting everything to incorporate with the least amount of liquid. It’s also excellent for small batches of nut butters.
What if I’m only buying one blender right now, which should I buy?
It depends. Will you be making large amounts of food at one time? Do you ever plan on making very small amounts? How much money can you spend right now?
If you’re going to be making frozen fruit smoothie bowls for one or 1 cup of salad dressing, you should get the Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowl blender. Even if you think you might want to make big batches of sauce from time to time, you should still get the Ninja. You can always make extra batches. The Vitamix will be unable to give you the well-blended small batches in its regular canister.
So if the Ninja Foodie Smoothie blender is so great, shouldn’t that be the only blender that I own?
Nope. For any large batch of anything, I will always, always use my Vitamix.
It can make piping hot pureed soups or potato puree right in the canister. Out of powdered sugar? You can throw regular sugar and cornstarch in and have it in seconds. Plus, when it comes to frozen drinks, I’ve never had better blended margaritas than those that came from a Vitamix blender.
Vitamix is still one of the best blenders you can buy. However, when it comes to personal blenders, I would add Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowls maker to that best blenders list too.
